We have been a family owned and operated business since 1954. All of our houses are located on one of the top ten beaches in the United States. Our oceanfront houses offer breathtaking views of sunrises and sunsets. Wide and uncrowded beaches are just a few steps away. Grab your beach chair and walk over the dune to shell hunting, building sandcastles, fishing and surfing. Our strong, consistent effort to maintain a family friendly atmosphere allows us to omit the administrative fees other vacation rental companies force customers to pay. We pride ourselves on offering you a clear, fair rate and working with you to meet your budget. We are the only vacation rental company on the Outer Banks with all houses in a single location, making us perfect for group functions! There are many reasons the Outer Banks is one of the most popular vacation destinations on the East Coast. Great places to stay, restaurants, natural and historic attractions, surf and offshore fishing- but the number one reason is our beaches! From Oregon Inlet to Hatteras Village, Hatteras Island offers over 50 miles of the most pristine accessible beaches in the United States, and Avon is right in the middle of it. Due to being in Cape Hatteras National Shore, much of our oceanfront is undeveloped, fronted by the natural dunes that have been there long before any inhabitants. That has kept them wide, sandy, natural and uncommercialized; perfect for family enjoyment.

We’ve been coming to Avon Cotages for our annual week at sea level since 1987. The accommodations are modest and so are the prices, but the location cannot be beat. Houses are on the dune line with great ocean views and easy beach access. Shops, groceries, and attractions are nearby but not overwhelming. This is laid back at its best.
